Hello,
Just to add my 'Tip' to the list.........for years now I have used 'Evo-Stik' type glue as a thread lock. All you have to do is run a thin line over the nut and the bolt ( or just put a blob over the end of the thread and onto the top of the nut ) and it will never come undone unless you want it to ! It is flexible and can easily handle vibrations and if you
DO want to undo the nut and bolt, either pick off the line with a small screw driver / craft knife, or just simply unscrew it ! The glue just makes it a tiny bit harder to undo and you can pick the little lump of it off once you have finished undoing it.
It also works well on pegs that are a press fit into say, the hull of a tank, just apply a blob internally and it will never come off unless you want it to. The glue is also great for holding wires to circuit boards to take the stress off the soldered end !
It does
NOT effect solid plastic, only expanded polystyrene, so it is a perfect product for use. It can also be painted which can be useful. and it is cheap and comes in tubes;D
Just as an aside I have also used it for years on nuts and bolts on my Motorcycle and my Series Land Rover and it works
everytime. I must add though that I use a bit more than just a thin line my road vehicles !;D
Happy glueing
