Can anyone identify the small appendages just below the escape hatch’s on either side

the turret ?

I suppose they might be the lifting lugs when the Turret has to be removed.

They are door retaining catches for when the machine is in motion with doors open.
they are set to low on the H/L Pz III and Pz IV's though.

Think Your correct on the positioning of that door retainer it certainly does look to be set to low compared to this picture of a real

Aussie!! Do you know what you have done?
A lot of us will now be wielding craft knives chopping off the wrongly placed door retainer and fixing it in its correct position,
