Hello Everyone,
Been lurking on here for a while and thought I would post my completed Tamiya Leopard build.
Its my first tank, as I was struggling to find a build that was a bit more technical. I build and fly RC Heli's and cars but they all bolt together fairly rapidly and easily, plus little or no painting.
This is a Tamiya Leopard 1:16 for which I purchased an Iwata Airbrush and a compressor, having never used one before. Also required a transmitter with non digital trims and the Futaba
T6L Sport works and performs all functions flawlessly without any additional config etc.
The build went well and the painting upto and including camouflage was all fairly easy, however it was my first try at weathering. I was also nervous to mess up a good looking model, therefor
I only made a couple of rust spots and muddied up the wheels etc.
The front lights are successful with the fibre optics, but the rear fibre optics snapped as major turns required. I re-wired using .2mm leds off the rear light board, which work a treat.
I am now eager to try another model.
Look forward to your comments about the build and whether anything glaring I can work on for next time, thank you:

Re: First Tank - Tamiya Leopard 1:16
Good morning,
The Leopard looks like a very intricate build there, especially all of those electronics. The paint looks good to my WWII armor type eyeball. As far as weathering goes, get yourself a three pack of the Tamiya weathering powders and experiment with them. They provide better coverage area and look more realistic than a glob here or a splotch there. Keep it up. You've opened the door to a whole new World of Model Based Insolvency!
regards,
Painless

Re: First Tank - Tamiya Leopard 1:16
Thank you for the kind comments and advice.
Looking forward to my next one before the airbrush starts rusting....lol
Its probably going to be:
Tamiya 56026 Panzerkampfwagen IV Full Option 1/16
By the way, I have done alot of price researching. Basically Germany seems cheapest option plus no Import Tax. And most surprisingly www.Amazon.de gave me the best price for the Leopard.
This time however looks like a Swiss site or this German model shop are cheapest:
https://swissbahn.ch/rc-panzer/7481-tam ... n-116.html
or
modellbau zentrum Berlinksi
Good luck

I have just purchased this Leopard from Russ through eBay. He's a really nice guy and the tank is great.
