The M31 TRV had a winch that used a PTO  from the transmission.  The diesel powered M31B1s PTO was at the front of the twin diesels.

What specific equipment?  It depends on the application and equipment.

Recovery winch, man enough to pull a tank.

Great idea Luke using a motorbike chain but realisticly it wouldnt be strong enough to pull a tank but 10 out of 10 for imagination ;D

Cool, just the sort of feed back i was after. I'll have a re-think. On the few drawings i have, the rear has just got a hole with a cable coming out of it, a bit boring to look at, still early days yet. ;D
