I think about 5 styles. The triple pipe style( carry over from panther A ), 2 pipes square welded exhaust, 2 pipes rounded cast exhaust. Next was with the cylindrical flame retardants and then the same with curved hoods on top( often on late Jagdpanther).
Sorry I haven’t got pic( on holiday at the moment). Hope this helps :)
Cheers Steve

Flammen whatsit exhausts only used on late JP and panthers. Then the flammen whatsit exhausts with curved hoods on late ones too.

The early ones are the two single and the triple and single.

With the triple pipes, only one pipe was an exhaust. The other two were air intakes. See here https://www.polytechforum.com/scale/que ... 09142-.htm

Yip, those outer pipes were added after the initial batch of Panthers kept bursting into flame for no apparent reason.
The sealed engine compartment and poor fuel system integrity meant that fumes etc were a source of ignition especially the manifold.

First versions had a single pipe on cast armoured fixtures.
The later ones had the triple pipes on the left with a single on the right on cast fixtures.
The next lot had single Flammenvichter systems which were on welded armoured fixtures. They had flat tops with difusers on the end.
The last version has the same type, but the hoods were bolted to the top, further redirecting the exhaust plume(if any)

I'd never realised that's what the flammenvernichter (flame-cancelling) mufflers were for Herman, thanks for the info. Having seen the fire shooting out of a Meteor engine (and out the back of a Comet) on the overrun, I can certainly say that's the sort of thing you'd want to keep well away from a flammable Panther. :haha:

I found this but it's probably too early https://www.rctank.de/Panther-G-1-16-Fi ... ion-WECOHE
Tankzone list this http://www.tankzone.co.uk/images/torro/ ... t-late.jpg but it will cost you 10p short of £100. Also Wecohe - EddyK used them on his Tamiya Panther.
