Any fan of the Pz IV should see this...

Post by 43rdRecceReg »

Just came across this 1:6 Panzer IV Ausf H build. It's astounding. It's not absolutely clear from the text, but the kit was made by a now defunct British company, apparently: Blitzkrieg Armour Models.
Have a look at the lines on this, and if hooked, there are twenty web pages of the build.
Panzer IV build in 1:6 scale from 6th Army Group
Panzer IV build in 1:6 scale from 6th Army Group
Pz IV build in 1:6 scale from 6th Army group website
Pz IV build in 1:6 scale from 6th Army group website
The builder mentions some the Armortek models in his collection, and so I assumed at first that this must be another. Perhaps there used to be a link between B.A.M and Armortek.

Yes, absolutely. As far as I'm able to tell, however, the British company that produced the Pz IV kit went out of business around 2010. I sure hope the same fate doesn't await Armortek. Even they are bought out last year, I believe, and that could be the start of the slippery slope... :problem:

I see the world of tanking sinking in an spiral, I see a lot of things disappearing and no one new (except the open panzer) coming.
In a quick rush, now I can remember:
The guy from An Bri, why I hope is happy wherever he is.
Wecohe out of business.
Schumo I think is out of business too, but I might be wrong.
Impact closed some days ago.
This brand of 1/6 tanks out of business.
21st century toys out of business for years, and now we suffer a big lack of figures.
Forces of valour out of business too.
Tamiya spares day by day harder to find, and rumours says tamiya does not want to sell spare parts anymore.
Heng Long engineers left the company so thats why we dont have news from them and hence the WPL truck.
And there are more that I dont remember right now...

Hard times for the hobby I guess...

Astonishing Panzer IV by the way.

Well, thanks for those cheery thoughts, Rad....just when I was looking for the address of 'Exit' :lolno: :haha: But..you're right, of course.
Before we all start reaching for the Tramadol, do have a look a what another amazing Armortek builder has done with his Armortek IV. I would have posted one of his tableaux here, were it not for the fact that they're for sale
on Vincesgallery. Do look through the pics there if you have a few minutes; they're quite inspiring, notwithstanding hobby gloom   :

On a more upbeat note, when you see what some members here are able to do with their 3D printers, as long as the basic raw building blocks such as chassis & running gear remain available for conversion there has got to be hope.

I can imagine. But it strikes me that the ultimate goal of building RC armour, must culminate in something like the Armortek 1:6 Panzer IV. I think it's the best model they've produced, and the one from Blitzkrieg Armour-whoever they were- is every bit as stunning. :O
Even this blank firing Armortek 88 brings out the dormant, latent schoolboy in us (well, in Me, anyway :haha: ):
