E90 tcb benedini test
This isn't a show off for the tank as I've a fair bit left to do, however the electrical side is done and to my great shock it worked first time!
An upgrade for the e90, fitted the open panzer tcb, benedini and hobbyking xcar combo. Im very pleased with the creep speed of the $8 ESC (excuse mini rant), it does seem odd to me you can pay upto £200 for a board and it won't run that smooth (or without the annoying low frequency switching whine.

And the wiring, awesome if you like lots of blinky LEDs (I do).

Tom was his board programmed and plug and play? Just haven't gotten around to fitting in my panther yet. Great job

Tanks alot....

Re: E90 tcb benedini test
Hey Carl, the benedini was preprogrammed, the tcb took some setting up to get how I wanted but it was straight forward and the wiki really helped when I got stuck.c.rainford73 wrote:Tom was his board programmed and plug and play? Just haven't gotten around to fitting in my panther yet. Great job

They're even on offer!
Re: E90 tcb benedini test
I am encouraged by your post as I have bought the same kit & am busy fitting it into my King Tiger. I found using the PC application to tailor the Open Panzer board very straight-forward. Those £8 HobbyKing ESC are great value for money, it's just a shame the Open Panzer sound board has not materialised yet as the Benedini board is so expensive compared to the TCB.

Re: E90 tcb benedini test
One trick I use to get rid of the whining is to set the throttle trim.
Watch the tank from standstill, if the engine sound starts before the tank moves, then the trim is off.
Slowly push the throttle up.
Tank still not moving?
Hold the stick at the point just before where the tank starts to move.
Push the throttle trim up gradually just to the point where the tank moves.
Now drop the stick back to centre.
Push it up again and the tank should just move when the stick is touched.
You can fine tune the trim from this point.
The whine usually appears when the throttle stick is activated but the motors aren't yet receiving enough power from a board. By adjusting the stick/trim the board gets the signal to send power to the motors as soon as the stick is touched. My Clark boards and Flysky tx always have to be set up this way. Might help someone!

Thanks for the link, Tom. Ill give it a try, but is not easy to fit so many things inside the tank.
