21st century toys 1/6 stuart

Hey guys, Ive been after a 1/6 scale rc stuart by 21st cenury toys for a while, does anyone kno anyone who may have stocks of these shop wise, or know anyone who may have one for sale?

Ive already spocken to rocketman about his beauties lol.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Alex look on ebay and see if you can find vodkalover, in england he did have some tanks and spare parts last year it,s where i got mine from worth a try mate!.

Well I hope you can find one,they are great tanks.If you was on this side of the big pond they are all over the place,and at the present time they are selling cheap.(in fact they are hard to sell at times---?????? never have figured that out---??? but great if a guy is wanting to buy one).

P.S.  the 1/6 scale are my favorite tanks.Two of them in the picture I sold (1/9 abrams--and one of the stuarts)

The Stuart is not a bad tank all you have to do to is replace the barrel rip out the electrics and fit Tamiya stuff you can even keep the 12 v battery. Then a quick repaint and they look good.- My son did his, unfortunately at a show somkebody stole the barrel while his back was turned!!!!!!!
Its a long time since I've seen them on sale in Walmart I bought one and shipped it back to the uk for less than £100

nibelungenwerk , could you enlighten me on fitting Tamiya electrics as this is what Id like to do, how is it done etc.

Apparently you literally just drop the dmd units straight in but put some fuses in between the motors and the dmd so that they blow rather than the DMD. A fan is also required to keep the dmd cool with the extra voltage going through it.

They are slow though even with dmd's in. Im a bit worried you might be expecting Hen long/mark 1/Tamiya responsivness. You wont get it. The idlers and wheels are all plastic and as not up to Tamiya/hen long acrobatics!

i was fine with this due to all the extra plastic ive piled on mine ( half a bathroom in one instance!) and didnt want it zooming all over the shop. Even still they are too slow for me and ill soon be upping mine to 9.6 v for some extra speed.

These are great tanks and well made for what they cost.I still have three of them left and they are still stock as far as the controls and running gear,although two of them have some moddifacation done to the upper hulls.One being a rapid fire gun and the other had some inside turret bulkhead cut out in order to have a couple of tank figures be able to set inside the turret.They still look the same outside but not inside.There is a massive amount of room inside these tanks.Myself I like the original tracks that came on these tanks,they are very strong and function well.(although some guys replace these with after market tracks that are suppose to be more like the real one's--???).For a stock tank there are still a lot of parts for these tanks being sold by 21St.Century on-line store--for both the 1/6 stuart and the 1/9 Abrams----NEW====tracks,sprockets,radios,batterys,and chargers.

One big problem with these is allways the shipping---they are big--they are heavy--close to 40 pounds shipping weight.If a guy still has the original box to ship them in it's not to bad as these were surrounded in foam in the original box and were pretty well protected for shipping.You can't just stick one of these in any flimsy box and send it on it's way as it will be in pieces when it gets to the other end of the line.

I remember a tutorial on the web a few years back showing how someone fitted a small petrol engine to one of these stuarts (think it was from a lawn mower or chain saw). Cant find the link now but the amount on engineering he did it was very inspiring.

Fitting the Tamiya gear is straight forward ad you can put 12v through the DMD this will help with the speed this has been done by a couple of UKTC members but as Keith says a pair of fans on the DMD and some in line fuses should sort the problem out another thing you will notice is that with the standard speaker it's a bit quiet so install an amplifier to the speaker that will sort that problem out
