Thanks, Adam and Carl...

your support makes me feel easier about yielding to temptation...yet again !.

Even though I experienced the usual slightly guilty, slightly queasy, feeling you get when spending a lot of money, it really
did seem a sensible investment for the future. Prices have shot up on Tamiya models since last Autumn, as I've pointed out a few times, and I can only see them going ever higher. Don't forget also that when we come out of the EU, it will cost much more to make use of Axel, Christian, and other German model sources and parts suppliers..
I think the Jagdpanther is a really eye-catching Tank/Tank-killer, he writes..attempting to squish any final doubts about the impulse purchase ..
By the way, I came across this thread today from Tankmad, out Glaswegian tank maestro. Back in 2014 (and Painless made a reference to it a year ago), he began sawing up a Tamiya Panther...Yes..you do believe your eyes..I really
did write 'Tamiya Panther'. he was going to convert it into the so-called 'Ersatz M10". It looks like a fantastic, and fairly unique opportunity to build a genuine WW2 oddity. That's if..and it's a massive IF, you're prepared to put a Tamiya..or even a Taigen to the sword....
This 'q' tank is a new one on me. I new about Germans dressed as Yanks in the Ardennes, but not that they gone to such customising levels as produce a Panther that Looked fairly like the M10 (apart from the suspension, that is..)
It's well worth checking out if, like me, it's an undiscovered model to you.
