The project is finished now after nearly two years. It had some frustrating moments but all up 120% satisfaction.
This may look discouraging for some would be builders. My advice dont be. If you have a small Lathe, Mill a good bench drill that can hold a 0.5mm drill without a wobble and some hand tools, the sky is the limit.
Everything is easy if you know how, if you do not know, find out how. And never say i can not do it.

Hi Walter,

One day when I "grow up" I want to achieve your level of machine skills! Your work is Stunning and should serve to inspire not discourage.
If one sees your build as a discouragement then like Mick says, "they put themselves down" and IMO underestimate their own potential.

As a former US President said with regards to the US space effort.
"We choose to go to the moon. We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills,........"

When I see results like you've achieved I simply strive to do better the very next time I sit down at my model bench. I may never acquire your skill level but, I will try and try and try and try and try again and not be willing to accept mediocrity as the best I can achieve.

and.... 8O ..The rest is silence. After this whirlwind visual journey through the highly desirable, but totally unbuildable (for mere mortals)..a stunned silence seems apt.
What amazes me more, is that some of these images are dated 2006. So... you didn't even have the benefit of the latest technology for this project. 8O ..Wow.
I saw a beautiful KT in 1:6 scale on Youtube crushing some bushes at an expo in Germany lately. It had the same stamp of excellent engineering that yours displays.
Hmm.. it would seem like an aesthetic sin to apply any paint to it... :think: Thanks Walter.
