PayPal fees

Just did some nashorn parts for raminator and PayPal charged me a fee for international transfer of 5.5%, so be aware. I think this is something new because I wasn't charged when I did the nashorn for Carl.

I did get some notice from PayPal of change of terms but obviously didn't read the small print, my bad!

Anyway lesson learned

Not sure how it was sent, but according to the help page you are still charged for international transfers for friends and family (if I read it correctly)

Being sent not friend and family sounds about right for that fee. I had to pay a fee to send international but was much lower than that

Just checked, if it was funded by credit card then additional fees are charged, which probably explains it.

Yes, if you can at all avoid it stay away from using CC's.

Like you, I never read the mountain of new terms that Ebay and Paypal seem to issue at regular intervals. They have such a stranglehold on trading that they can charge what they like.

I paid by bank account; they've obviously hiked the fees in that recent update. They charged me 5% on some cash Herman sent me not long ago, so 5.5% on an international transfer sounds par for the course.

I am wondering if you have inadvertently signed up for the "PAY-PAL" Credit account or mistakenly pressed the Credit option when authorising Payment instead of the regular option of "Instant" Payment taken directly from your Account.
I just like you and I suspect 99% of other "Pay-Pal" users have not read the full terms but the Credit Payment option is a recent innovation and when was the last time credit was offered free by a Bank.?
