Gra's Panther

Post by Gra »

Hi all
Have finished my Panther mod (full mod on HobbyHavoc site  http://www.hobbyhavoc.com/forum/index.php?topic=429.0abs)
some mods are: metal g/box, wheels and tracks... opened hatches... added track hangers and refined the tools... made MG, barrel and muzzel brake... made turret turn on one spot with no overhang... narrowed top hull by 25mm and lengthened it about 30mm... sloped back end and added gerry cans and engine grills...added other bits and peices of detail... on/off switch etc in engine hatch...

If you have a hack saw, heaps of evergreen plastic and some glue you can end up making a reasonable Panther

Cheers
Gra :)

Looks awesome.  I followed it on the on Hobby Havoc and the work is both extensive and impressive.

At least, I did until they locked out all none members from just perusing the forum.  :-\  I like the final model.  :D

Great job on the HULL angles, paint work very well done. The paint work on the stock PANTHER looks so fake, but here you have really made a realistic PANTHER, class act sir.

Hi littletankman
Happy to help, you can view my panther mod on this link (http://www.hobbyhavoc.com/forum/index.php?topic=429.0abs)
it has all the details of what I did, though a big project, took me over a year to complete (had some down time)
It was also a big learning curve (only my 2nd mod), amazing what you can do with evergreen plastic
With all the mods I did it was still a pretty cheap tank
if you need any info just PM me anytime
cheers

Hi Gra, Thanks Ive thought of doing mine but just seemed a lot of cutting . Im not bothered about cutting as I moved my HL Tiger 1 turret hole back and changed the turret . Then I saw you could buy the HL Jagdpanther bottom , so I thgough of getting that and scratch building the top as I have the scale drawing book on late war German tanks . But again I then saw the new HL Panther G . But Im out of work so I have time just to many tanks to do . I looked at the link you have to join to see you work .

Thanks Andy
