T-34 ARV.

Post by vonrundstedt »

Just a little photo log of my ARV build.

First photo shows the stripped down upper hull, side storage bins made from thin card added, Jib post holder made from key steel and drilled, and my reference picture.
Second photo shows the platform, also made from card, painted but not finished.
Third photo shows the platform decking. A sheet of card coverd in wood effect self adhesiv foil and plank lines scored in.
Forth photo is of the turret covered over(base for Jib)
Fith photo is of the Jib components. This was made from 6mm brass rod, very thin brass sheet, pins were made from welding wire, hammered through the rod and plate (no finness with me!) and then the ends were peened over. The diagonal supports are made from 3mm solder and the block and tackle is made form a 16mm pipe olive, thin card and small chain , used for jewllery craft from a well known craft store.

So thats it so far. If you havent guessed by now, I make do with what i can get my hands on and certainly have quite a, "bodge it" approach. Next jobs are to finish the storage bins, rear platform and add a bit of paint.

Hi folks! Well, the wife's staying at the health spa tonight with her sister, the kids are all in bed, the pet s are fed and the house works done. What is a bloke to do?......carry on with his tank of coarse. Have had a good night working on my ARV. Heres a couple of pics.

I got all of the basic construction done and then did a bit of painting.

Must admit I've got a soft spot for ARV's and engineer vehicles aswell.
I'm wondering if the bulldog hull could be used to scratch this.
It's the British Terrier engineer vehicle.

They would both look good as Rc models, though the Terrier looks quite complicated, lots of angles and contours, and that Jib and front loader would take some working out if you wanted them to work, but from the look of it, the bull dog hull would be a good starting point. Cheers for your feed back guys, Luke ;D

the bulldog chassis would work well for the terrier

as usual there no drawings for the terrier any where ... real pain as i would have a crack at it .... the jib .. easy as i have built several jibs for my tam 1/14 rc trucks

i am actualy looking at a  berg jagdpanther ..... thats right jagdpanther ....

[glow=red,2,300]Almost Finished!![/glow] Here it is, just have to blank off the front Mg port, finish scratch making a block and tackle and some pully's and add a few more stores on the platform. Im going to leave the jib errected as it's quite fidderly to keep assembling and disasembling it. Hope fully it will be fully completed by pay day.
