Phill's King Tiger build

Post by Aus_Tank »

Just about finished the Sherman (pics soon), so I thought I'd make a start on the kitty cat.

Parts:
Impact:
T/U's
Late tracks and sprockets
brass elevator arm
P/E set

Jamara 480 BB motors (I might go back to the originals)

Schumo
barrel and muzzle brake
tow cables
Antenna mount
Resin exhaust armour
Headlight
Idler mount blocks and drums

Darryl Products
Transmission strengthener
Idler axel upgrade

Eto
Wheel bearings

The lower hull is almost complete. I temporarily installed the original Tamiya idler gear so I could do a test run in the backyard.  I'm finding that with the Jamara 480's, the tank is way to fast, so I might revert back to the original Tamiya motors.

I also started building the etched mud flaps and jack block mount.

More work with the front guards and a better shot of the rear. All the brass is soldered btw.

Thanks Matt.

Some more progress. I've now refitted the original Tamiya motors....speed back to a more realistic level now! The Jamara's will come in handy down the track. I've also scratched a rear light and have fitted the Schumo Idler system. Still have to finish the "C" hook attachment points.

More progress...I really like the Impact etched set. I also decided that this K/T would have the full compliment of fenders.
