Taigen type recoil question

Post by Lert »

I got myself a Torro KV-2 turret, but I have some trouble getting the recoil function to - ... well, function.

I plugged in all the wiring, but there's one loose wire that I don't know where it goes. It looks like a ground of sorts, but why would a plastic turret need ground?

Image

It's the right-most wire in this picture.

The recoil system also doesn't work. The flashbulb flashes instantly when I push up on the left stick, but there is no recoil function and the barrel doesn't move from the fully retracted position, as it is in this pic:

What am I missing / doing wrong?

It's the IR version of the turret; I don't care about the IR functionality, I just want the barrel recoil to work.

Good morning, I think you may find the lead plugs into the power on the taigen board, try googling some
images, they might help

hi the red wire will go to the black neg splice it in on the black neg on the on/off switch its the recoil return
if when you have done that the recoil still dont work it will need a reset push the stick up and gentle pull the barrel at the same time
hope this helps

Think your bang on there dave just looked at a taigen board, why on earth though they run a red wire from
a negative under the board, a black wire would be much more sensible

Could also need to place a loop wire from the positive on the yellow ended motor to the same terminal on the green ended motor.
But the heavy red wire needs to be soldered to the negative on your power switch as Mr Forgebear says.
This should restore the unit to full forward battery when you power it up.
Thats the limit of my help though

I have found that normal colour coding of wires does not appear to apply in things Chinese. It has always flummoxed me when connecting up replacement boards. It really goes against the grain to connect a red wire to a negative feed.

This weird wire seems to extend from all those taigen recoil units. Is it then that this thing is meant to be a "reset" connector? I have the Panther recoil not resetting on my ibu2, although i changed the settings over and over again, it just cycles for the set amount of time and stays there. Over several cycles this leads to the odd moment where the gun only recoils have the way. Would connecting this wire solve the problem? I was already about to go to servo recoil.

Hi Guys.

I have just done it in my taigen Panther F.

All though in my case, the redundant Wire was blue and had a sort of clamp in the end. But now recoil works on my IBU2U
