What is THIS?

Hey all;
So I just decided to open up Rumble the T-90 up after playing around for a while - when I came across this:


Look in the areas right under the gearbox in focus, you'll find a grimy / liquid like substance oozing from the gears. Now I don't know if this is oil or something; but what the hell is it? If there's a problem, can someone tell me what to do?

Heng long grease monkey strikes again, got to be related to the glue monkey lol.

Or was rumble second hand?

Completely new - box was sealed with the HL stickers that were RIDICULOUSLY hard to get off.
Any fixes? Or do I have to keep opening him up and cleaning it off?

Any idea how much lube to put in them to stop the motor and gears from breaking?

hi there i would just dip your finger in the oil see if they have metal files in there as it looks like your zinc gears are striping if you have used your tank on grass it may have been a bit much for the soft gears

I used it on grass - yes. And I had a look at the grease, there were some metallic looking bits in there.
S**t - there goes offroading.

The plastic gears are , in my opinion , stronger then those cheap and nasty zink rubbish anyway.
Just do what I do , upgrade every tank I get to the black metal gearboxes or the ultimate gearboxes with bearings everywhere.

if you are thinking of off road you may want the black steel gears wont cost the earth to get

Those stripes will kill them every time.

I agree a very nice reliable set of steel gears are my favorites! They are very reasonably priced from Dave too
