M7. Priest kit...

Post by brizo58 »

Hi All,
I'm thinking of building the resin kit of the M7 priest. I see Dave Forgebear stocks it.Has anyone built one?? If so is it 1/ worth the money? 2/ accurate?. I know I will have to buy the lower Sherman hull and bits&bobs to finish it. So any info on it would be great. Brian...

Having scratch built one I think the kit is cheap as chips! It looks really good and should provide a really interesting build. The gun slew/elevate is really tricky and I never managed to figure out how to do recoil, so if you do a build thread I shall be following with great interest. One recommendation though is that whichever chassis you pick the first recommended action is to remove the battery box as otherwise it is a right b^**er to fit all the electronics and battery in!!

If you're buying the lower parts seperately make sure you get low profile stug boxes as the Sherman ones don't allow the upper to sit correctly...

If you go MATO for the lower hull be aware the gearboxes are a very tight fit and the mato chassis wiring is different from HL, so double check all connections - I didn't and blew an RX18!
