Turret Ring System for 1/16 Tamiya Tanks

Post by bowlman »

Here is what I have had built for me from a company called 35rctank.com its a metal turret ring system that works with a servo  I had two made for two Shermans and he can make them for other Tamiya tanks they cost $35.00 plus shipping and he takes Paypal .

If you like what you see and want to try then send S.K. an email at  info@35tank.com .Or wait tell after I try them and post a reply here on how well they work .

There web site is www.35tank.com  And they are working on a 1/35 convertion to rc system .

So if I understand you correctly they are making these for 1/16 scale now? So a single servo control turret rotation, how about turret speed,is the gearing to scale? Waiting for your next post. Sax

Hi Jimmy,

I posted a link to their site on here the other day. http://www.35rctank.com/
The 1:35 RC stuff is amazing.

I think that turret ring coversion will give you 360 degree rotation. Nice one.  ;D

Got the turret rings today they came monday but missed the mail lady and could not pick them up tuesday so they look great and easy to install and with the futaba s3003 servo its got a lot of torq and the speed looks good not fast but not to slow ether I think this will work better then the Tamiya system and easier to install then the HL to a Tamiya Tank you just epoxy 4 round mounts to the top hull and screw the turret ring drive system plate down and then just epoxy the plastic ring to the inside of lower turret ring hole and press it into dive system and your up and running and if you want to remove turret just pull it off To bad you cant plug the servo into the DMD .

Hay this looks like it will work very good easy to install 4 plastic round garments just have to epoxy them to upper hull and screw down the metal ring system then just super glue or epoxy the ring into turret hole and then line up turret and press ring into metal gear hole can replace the servo with one you converted to a gearhead dc motor or do it to the provided servo by removing the board from servo motor and then solder two wires on and you can run it from a Tamiya DMD unit or use a y splitter cable and plug one end into servo and the other into DMD so you still get turret sound then just plug the final end into the Rx if you did not want to take apart the servo .

Im the tinkering kind of guy so ive took a old futaba s3003 servo and made it into the gearhead motor will hook up to DMD turret wires that way .

If you're turning the turret 360 degrees, how do you ensure that you're not twisting the wiring to the turret and pulling it out?
