Good afternoon,
Looks like a softened suspension along with a set of fast motors and steel gearboxes. That's all I can tell from watching ( Oh and Grandad will need slow-mo on his camera to add the 'awesome' factor after the run is done. ) Should all be doable, just add $$$.

I won't be a lot of use for information on this. I like my tanks to be heavy, slow and grind - worthy across\through tough terrain. I've seen a set of red can motors that some of the modern tank drivers around here seem to favor for acceleration and top end speed. I believe that they are either Asiatam or HL manufacture. One of those fellows will be a lot more help. Also, your smart phone camera should have slow-mo as a feature in video replay. Saves some bucks there, hopefully.

Make after watching this video I actually think I want to buy one of these I never realized how crazy one of these tanks could be once made into such a good runner. I have a feeling some of the video may be tricking your eye as it looks like it's been done almost professionally and it might be making the tank look at hell of a lot faster or better than it really is I also noticed some Curious cutouts on the upper deck and it looked to me like there might be a lipo battery popping out so that could also explain some of the burst of acceleration obviously there must be some modifications to the motors but like I said this thing's a beast it can be done with a few dollars spent like mr. Painless noted

I did something similar on my Panzer III. I just shortened the front and back springs a bit.

About the red motors you can find them at tank army I thin for about 15 australian dollars the couple.. They are fast like hell, and a lot of boards do not support them. For example I could not run those motors with the IBU2 wathever I tried. But if you find a board that can handle such motors definitelly you will get an unrrealistic speed...

Hmm.. apparently he squeezed heavy RS540 big-cans in it. Explains the behaviour of the suspension. 540's are quite a bit heavier and waaaay more powerful. Put a big 3-cell LiPo in it and the Bulldog will look like the Howe and Howe Razor or ripsaw.

The cutouts in the rear are just to get the heat of 2 RS540's running on 11.1v out. I Think he also used Tamiya gearboxes.
