Gumtree / shpock and feeling guilty ?

Post by mcevoyi »

Hi all

I know I've Been really quiet for ages .. I have been lerking about reading and following
Posts ...but not building for quite some time ..

So as may of your know .. the delights of evil bay ..and bidding and usually overpaying for the
Things we all want ,, it's worth once and a while scanning thru Gumtree and shpock
Both mobile friendly website for people to buy and sale ..and it your able to jump in a motor
And go see something u want you can very often get a really good deal
Especially if you wave notes under people's noses

Yesterday Monday 26 June .. I thought I give shpock a shot ,,as I was sat in North Bristol
Waiting for ere in doors to do some shopping
After a few moments of typing in want I was looking for up popped a pic of a hl panzer 4
With the description tiger 1 ..well were not all tank buff are we ?
So I sent a message to say any more pice please ...with in a few moment the reply with a pic of a HL tiger 1 .at £25 .. new with out box so after a carefull negotiation ..with err in doors and not he seller... I
Made arrangements to go and see with cash today being Tuesday

Up the m5 again to north bristol ,,got to the seller house and she opened the garage
And yep a new hl tiger 1 .all the parts in bags that k perfect and 2.4g twin sound ..
Big big smile ,, on my face I asked if she had any more .. tanks for sale ..
Very quickly she replied yes and then opens a big metal cubbard like a big big filing cabinets
And bugger me ,,

After my jaw hit he floor .. I picked my self up and asked how much ..for the collection in the cabin
All new .,not boxed ..parts comelette and bagged and checked ., 6 tanks in all

I payed 120 cash for the lot ... I feel really guilty ?????

Pic below explains it all ,,I never knew a land rover could do 120 mph down the m5 ....

Mcevoyi,
What astounding good fortune! You have truly made out like a bandit. Now is the perfect time to pay it forward ( as they say in New Jersey ) and pass the savings along to your fellow builders. ;o)
regards,
Painless

You mean you're worried she'll sell them for what you told her you paid for them? :D

You may have missed what I added to my posts, about what happened to the panzer four she showed a picture of?
Also, like I said, I'll happily buy one off you for twice what you paid so you can give her more ;)
The new collection ate staying put .. I now have a few ideas of for builds ...

And the panzer 4 was a generic pic taken from the net because she could not get a pic she liked
No panzer 4 there .. which I would have like any way ..and what I thought it was til I seen them

Sorry to say that the Challengers are the pre-production models and quite worthless, the T90's are the North Korea export versions, and therefore won't be going anywhere. I feel so sorry for you that I will pop down the motorway and give you £126 for them, it's the least I can do for a fellow forum member. :/
