TK22 versus TK24

Post by Tiggr »

I have two Tiger 1 tanks with Clark boards fitted.
The TK24 board has the added benefit of being able to rev the engine and put it "in gear" to drive off.
I must say that I find the engine revving facility disappointing in terms of realism.

With the benefit of hindsight, I would have stuck with buying another TK 22

What do you guys think of the revving option on the 24 board ?

That's strange - the sounds on both my boards are identical - really pleased with the quality of it, but when I rev the engine on the TK24 it sounds insipid - it loses its growl.

Could you get a video? Seems odd as the tk24 uses tk60 sounds which aren't the same as tk-22

Yup, the TK24 sounds are much better than the TK22, though I wish that I could switch off the neutral gear function, I find it gets in the way when I push it out of gear in the heat of battle.

Okay
Better late than never.
The first fire up is the TK22- the battery died before I could do the full repertoire of sound.
The sound fire up is the TK24 which was already "in gear " when I drove it. The sounds seem the same to me.

The idleing sound, turret turn, elevation, i.e. all the sounds which don't change with movement will be the same. However the engine sound on the move is completely different as the tk24 uses the tk60 sound handling.

Skip to about 3:05 and you'll see that the steps in the engine sound are very obvious, where on the tk24 it's blended together much better.

I can't speak for yours as the battery ran out however!

Here's another tiger (think this is the tiger rather than king tiger, the step effects more pronounced
