Hi,
Here is a modified HL Panther G Late in winter camouflage with FG 1250 Infra red device for the commander.
The building of this model was a salvage operation. I used a surplus turret I had left from a Coelian conversion, bough a empty HL hull and tracks from Forgebear, gearbox from ebay, old surplus rx-18 and other electronics from the spare box, Panzerparts.com Schurzens, and bunch of parts from Imperial-Modellbau and Tank Modellbau. After the Nashorn build, I appreciated the simple project.
There seems to be many variations of the FG1250 IR device with differences in looks and mounts. I used pictures of a restored full size one on the web and used it as a model to improve the metal kit which is very basic. Achtung Panzer volume 6 also helped.
A winter camo is tricky to do. I experimented a bit. If I tried to be too realistic and make the white wash imperfect on top of summer camo, then the tank might be realistic but did not necessarily look good, it was actually really ugly. So, I simply re-painted it overall flat white and used black and steel pigments to weather it. At least I think it is pretty now... Lets say it is an early winter setup and the crew did a good job...
Pictures taken in my wife's garden.
Regards, Louis

Looks fantastic Louis
That garden looks like she's sitting in a scale version of a field of flowers and tulips!

Looks like the Big Cat has gone to some great Tank heaven, or Field of Dreams
Wonderfully subtle -and tasteful- handiwork all round, Louis, with your customary leap-out-of-the-screen pics
I'm a fan of well taken, and properly composed photographs....

Great looking Panther there, Louis. Very nicely done. She sure shows well in that nicely posed setting.

Awesome Panther I like the winter camouflage Alot, it looks like the crew will have to hurry and get the white wash off as spring has sprung

Thanks everyone,
She's a nice addition to my Panther family line up. The idea is to have some variations in the camo, equipment and style on the shelves and for the field. The Coelian is a 1946 "rusted" view of Germany's remaining armor assembled for a go for broke offensive. The Panthers are pretty clean, one with Zimmerit and commander, the other with a winter camo and IR device. The Jagdpanther was corrected into a Late version with some battle damage.
