I found these at Wal Mart yesterday, they’re action figures & so poseable, but the joints are a bit obvious, especially on those with pale or flesh colored arms. That should be an easy fix though once you’ve set up the pose.
They scale out perfectly, but you might want a little “doctoring" to look “right” or you could take poetic license with them.
They come in 2-packs in the U.S for about US$ 4.00 & there are 15 different characters,some more & some less suitable for tankers. 2 for example are female characters.
The set is called “The Corps Elite (Faction Face off)” if you’re interested.
The one with the steel pot is originally some kind of ninja with a pony tail you need to chop off, but once done a spare USGI helmet with the locator peg removed is a good fit with a dab of contact cement. They're full length figures with legs, but they can easily be removed with a sharp knife at the hip pivot, leaving just the right length of body for a good fit in the open hatches.
“Sarge” is included for scale. As you can see painting this detailed is no longer a possibility for me as I’ve developed a nervous twitch called “Essential Tremor” which makes fine detailing (like his coverall straps) very difficult. These being pre-painted offer an option.
