They scale out perfectly, but you might want a little “doctoring" to look “right” or you could take poetic license with them.
They come in 2-packs in the U.S for about US$ 4.00 & there are 15 different characters,some more & some less suitable for tankers. 2 for example are female characters.

The one with the steel pot is originally some kind of ninja with a pony tail you need to chop off, but once done a spare USGI helmet with the locator peg removed is a good fit with a dab of contact cement. They're full length figures with legs, but they can easily be removed with a sharp knife at the hip pivot, leaving just the right length of body for a good fit in the open hatches.
“Sarge” is included for scale. As you can see painting this detailed is no longer a possibility for me as I’ve developed a nervous twitch called “Essential Tremor” which makes fine detailing (like his coverall straps) very difficult. These being pre-painted offer an option.
