Tank escape hatches
I read somewhere recently that German WW2 tanks and no escape hatches in the floor. Well, I suppose with torsion bar suspension there in some , that might explain it; but if the tank flipped, you could get out of the Sherman, and many other tanks, I think...but the Tiger, well... Perhaps floor escape hatches weaken the floor; but I'd feel claustrophobic in a Tank ( and I once sat in a Chieftain), if the exits were blocked by the turret, or earth (inverted), or a metal floor with no door in it
