Just joined and am looking for some advice...
I've refurbishing an old 21st Century Toys 1/6th Stuart Tank that I bought from Ebay. The tank itself is fine but the RC system is in bits... no controller, no battery, loose boards etc., so I'd like to try and replace the old bits and pieces with a suitable up-to-date RC system. Could anyone advise?
Cheers,
Martin

Painless, a leading light of the community here did some work on the same model a little while back. It's a starting point anyway, and well worth a read. Others will chip in shortly, I'm sure, with some tips.

Good afternoon,
Mine is still a WIP as I am surrounded by 1/16 scale Armor needing to be built. There are a couple of great Online Resources to help with the electronics end of things. Here is one: http://www.customrcmodels.com/M5Stuart/ : The info is a little old but then so is the Stuart line by 21st Century.
regards,
Painless
P.S. is a "leading light" i.e. a Convoy Light, an illuminated something that is dim and useful only when you are about to run into things.

It is not my wish to be insulting but dammit Painless your so self effacing that at this distance you might well be confused for an Englishman,

I fear the James Stewart mould has been broken unfortunately but there is always that Donald bloke you could usefully emulate,
Over here we are in awe of his every word and sales of bomb shelters have really picked up since he got his new job.
Shaun.
