Clark TK24 and JR Transmitter.

Post by gisalook »

Hi guys I'm having trouble setting up my Clark TK24 and my Transmitter.
My receiver is an Orange R920x v2 and it has the channels as throttle, Ale, Elev, Rudd, Gear plus Aux1,2,3,4
in the Clark instructions it says to connect the servo type leads to channel 1,2,3,4 but I'm all confused and my head is going to pop.
Can anyone help a novice out.
Thanks
Adrian

Adrian, it all depends on how you want your two control sticks to be set-up. For example, say you want right stick forward and backward as throttle, and the left stick as the tank function control stick similar to the stock Heng Long transmitter set-up ? Channel 1/2 is for steering and throttle, and ch3/4 is for tank function. You need to map that to how your transmitter is currently set-up. i.e. If your current transmitter is set-up as Mode 1 which means your right stick is set-up for Throttle and Ale, so you should then put Channel 2 to throttle on your receiver, and Channel 1 to Ale on your receiver. Similarly for Ch3/4 on your left stick. You just need to play with it a bit and then figure out how you want it set-up. You might have to do some swapping around between Ch1/2/3/4 and Throttle/Ale/Elev and Rudd on the receiver to get exactly what you want.

Thanks Michael.
My transmitter is set up for helicopters as mode 2 left stick throttle with no spring return. I've changed the transmitter to airplane I'd like the steering on the right stick and the throttle on the left. I have servo elevation and recoil. I'm waiting for the IR receiver to arrive in the post so I can set up the elevation servo. I know the instructions use a Futaba receiver marked 1 to 4 but my receiver is marked as throttle, Ale, Elev, Rudd, Gear plus Aux1,2,3,4 I have tried to sort it out and the sound is amazing so much better.

Adrian, the only thing is that if you split throttle over two sticks, the multifunction part (i.e. Lights, MG, Engine Start and elevation will be split between the two sticks as well. Are you okay with that ? I.e. if you have throttle on left stick and steering on on right stick, then you will need to have left stick LEFT and right stick down to turn on the light etc. Basically everything will be crossed two sticks. This is actually part of the reason Heng Long stock has change the usual convention and put all movement to the right stick.

Either way, it is just mapping the ch1/2/3/4 to whatever set-up you have on your transmitter. So in this case channel 2 goes to throttle, channel 1 goes to Ali and then 3/4 to rudd and gear and you should be fine.
