TBS/BARC/SABER set up

Post by tao »

If you have a TBS/BARC(DBC) set up and want to get really good track control without using the RX-18 for that;
You can use the sabertooth 12/2 amp motor controller and continue to have the BARC control
all the other sounds and functions. I used a Y splitter for throttle from the TBS continue to the BARC
and to the Saber fwd channel. Saber has dip switches to set to a smooth forward control and I lowered the Expo on the alieron
(turn) channel to get the superspin nice and slow using promax 480 motors.

Kept that all plugged into the RX ..so all sounds and functions sync and work but the saber is driving the tracks instead of RX.

If you're getting rid of the rx 18 you need an esc to drive the elevation and rotation, what are you using?

Since I don't have an IBU Clark or TCB at the moment (and like the TBS) the Saber for me took out the major weak link the
only significant thing it can't do imo is momentum for slowing down (aside from other fine adjustments as shown with the TCB etc.)
Otherwise it with a few tweaks on the radio and dip switch adjustments..really works great (Saber)

Not a scientific study but the Saber is designed to recharge the battery on decel and reverse and it does seem this battery is
lasting a lot longer than it ever has before!!
