Reciever cable

Ok I'm new to this so forgive wording but I'm looking at buying a transmitter and maybe a Clark board or ibu3... now what is the cables called that hook the reciever up to the boards..I see the transmitters come with receivers but I don't know where to look to find the cable/wiring that connects the reciever to a board...so what is this called and where do I buy them..
Again my aim is to buy a better transmitter to add a sound board

The 4-6 cables should come with the board you choose.

Henglong, taigen etc electrics won't work with ahonbt radio without some extra items. The dbc allows this, rctankaustralia also have something that lets you use a hobby radio proprietary systems described.

In my (limited) experience, when you buy a transmitter you'll often find that it's in package deal that includes the appropriate receiver, whilst better deals will include the rx cables you need too. Thus it was with my SpeKtrum and Fly Sky models. But retaining the existing MFU controller (Taigen/HL/ whatever) with a Hobby grade transmitter, is as Tom has pointed out,going to be tricky, with very limited options.
One way to get improved sounds etc., whilst retaining the tank's existing transmitter and motherboard (MFU), is to add on an after-market card like the Beier (numerous recent threads on this topic). Otherwise, the most effective path is to remove the HL or Taigen controllers (Mato too) and transplant the Clark of IBU type board into your tank.
That way, a decent Transmitter (with self-centering toggles/ sticks) and matched receiver, will be so much easier to employ. 4-10 channel tx/rx combos paired with Clark/IBU/ Elmod controllers offer much greater potential from improved performance, and audio effects,than some mix and match of existing and add-on components...for the moment anyway. However, if money is scarce (and this hobby sucks it up like a vampire with an eating disorder ), replacing your existing setup with the latest HL T90 TX/RX (numerous threads touch on that too) is likely to be cost-effective; if tricky for some to achieve. HL have improved their electronics lately, and rumour has it that Taigen have better products in the pipeline.
