Panzer 4 turret bin

Post by dane61 »

I want to correkt my new panzer4 .
The turret bin seem high toward the cuppula. Im not sure if this is correct for an F2. I cant find any pictures with this high bin.
Shall i leave it or make it flush with the turret top?

Yep it's too high..it's also too long...it is possible to lower the top and you can also get it a bit shorter too...still not 100% accurate but better..

I wonder whether this bespoke kit might be a better solution than modifying your existing bin? This Firm has a good reputation among modellers.

A 1/35th bin won't fit...plus the elevation gearbox still needs to be in the box..

Anyone wanting to make an accurate Panzer 4 has to begin with the fundamentals otherwise it will never look right,
The rear section on a PZ4 sloped down from behind the turret ring backwards But Heng Long, Taigen and Mato's PZ4s are all level, Which means until that is corrected there is little value in adjusting the turret box,
There are some good examples on the Forum of PZ4s with the rear section altered,

Yes, I realised that sometime later Frankie, not having seen the 1:35 ratio at first :{ ..However I thought Aber or similar
after market specialists might have something on offer. If the Tamiya version has the correct proportions, and improved detail- and that's generally the case with their products- maybe it would be worth buying the bag containing that part of their Ausf J kit? I suppose even if the slope on the the upper hull is incorrect, as Shaun says, and there's no obvious and simple remedy for that, at least it might be possible to have an accurate Turret setup.
