Kv 2 Lights LED'S

Post by Jake79 »

Hi Guys

I'm at a point where I need to try and tackle the lights for the KV..being a complete novice when it comes to electronics I was hoping for some help with front and rear light. So far I worked out they will need to be LED's SMD and resistors are needed I think?

I've seen on the Ibu 2 there is a place you can plug in a light, would be nice to be able to just plug in the front headlight. I
think I could forget the rear one if I could plug a front one in.

Tankde sell this one but no idea how I would install it..any help much appreciated.

Evening bud
The light wirings simple as with the ibu,The rear light needs a red led which you can get from maplins (i may have one) and a resistor that i have plenty of (you can have a few) and a plug to connect to the board and as you may have guessed yes i have a couple you can have.
The resistor solders to the positive side of the led (the longest leg of the 2).
The front lamp wires through the main hull connector.
I will have a look later to see what led's i have here.

No need for resistor with IBU2. Just connect to the tail light socket.

If you do decide to wire the tail light into the headlight circuit then you need a resistor because white and red leds require different voltage and with out resistor you find only the red lights up.

Thanks mate that's very kind of you. Tell me what I need to throw your way on pay pal, P&P and I'll sort it.
One question no need to use a resistor as Ian says. What will I need to actually solder, just the one wire to the short leg of the LED?

Again the same with the front light the one solder on led and then solder to main hull connector?

Cheers Jake
