Do these upper hull two boards serve any purpose?

Do they server any purpose other than maybe keeping the wires out of the way of the turret ring, or maybe letting you solder extras to them rather than the main upper hull connector?

They are just patch boards so everything can be made piecemeal and then someone else solder everything together. They serve no purpose electronically.
