Scratch build anyone?
Scratch build anyone?
It had the hull and engine of the Leopard2 coupled to the turret and main gun of the Challenger.
So it had speed, mobility, reliability, chobham armour and a superb 120mm rifled gun.
It was the Vickers Mk7 MBT. By the way, it didn't sell!!!

I know a guy who may be very knowledgeable on this tank do you want me to ask him for some information

Re: Scratch build anyone?
i got a big hammer and a welder, it would be dead easy to make one
::) ::) ::), mind you, for a modern tank, the Vickers Mk7 MBT is a good looking tank, who will be first to make one?, why not a joint forum effort, someone makes the chassis, someone else the turret,etc. not easy, but well worth the effort

Some more piccys and a video:

Not quite a Challenger turret, but with modern tanks being so slab sided anyway it shouldn't been too difficult for somebody who's considerably more talented than me!
The hull can be taken directly from the Hobby Engine Leo2, I've read that the Mk7 was an attempt to get around German export controls by making the vehicle non-lethal when it left German soil by virtue of selling it without a turret!
Vickers then plonked on a left over turret from their failed Mk 4 design, and offered it to anybody who could afford it (and those of us who are old enough will recall that the UK govt of the day was less than choosy about who it sold arms too
)
