Summer Projects

Hi all,

Been a while since I posted anything on here , I have kept building though, so here's some photo's of builds completed over the summer:

First up, a Taigen/Torro KV-2 modified back to Russian spec (German cupola removed, etc. IBU and Vampire hidden battle system installed and loads of weathering):



Second, A DGS/Vandra resin firefly conversion on a stretched HL lower, IBU3 control board:



Third, a Panda 38t with the Clark TK35 board and Clark conversion kit, full RC, even managed to fit a hidden battle system in the cupola...



And a second shot next to my Tamiya Leopard, as you can see its quite a small tank:



I am just starting on a Stug IV build so will post pics as I go

Good afternoon!
Beautiful stuff ( especially that KV-2 ;o) I've looked at that Panda 38T. It is nice to know it is doable and in an amazing level of detail.

Really like the 38t super cool. I would love to build one and make it Rc. Is the conversion kit on Clark's website? Well done on all builds very nice

I've got the 38t kit. I would be interested in any details of the conversion. The tracks looked a bit tricky unless you found a ready made alternative. Great models BTW.

Well, you've certainly not been wasting your time, then. That's a fine bunch of detailed models; but like others here, I'm particularly taken with the Panda 38T. Those rivets and bolt heads smack of real machinery.
Just found a an interesting build thread here on the Panda kit...in 1/16. May even pencil it in my my own ever-growing 'to do' list.

About the 38t, the kit is a clark kit and he still has the instructions on the website: http://www.clark-model.com/eng/kit_116_38t/

Unfortunately he has it listed as TBD and it seems its out of stock, hopefully there will be more in the future.

The tracks are very tricky. I bought a set of metal ones from DKLM (the spade ace ones) but they turned out to be too heavy for the idler setup and so I had to drill every last link out on the sprue, remove it, clean the sprue marks, then drill through again to clear the way for my track pins (0.6mm brass dress makers pins). Theres 186 links so it took about 12 hours to do them all. I would strongly advise anyone trying this to order one of these first:

This makes the job doable, I think doing it by hand would take about a year! The handy drill comes as a kit so is a neat little build in itself.

It works with dremel colletts too (it comes with one that can take a bit down to about 1.5mm).

Another tip, don't use turps based washes for weathering, I did and it made the 3D printed materials it touched melt

I'll post some photos of the build when I get them sorted out.
