CanAm Battleday and get together

Post by dgsselkirk »

Hi Guys,

Here we are at battleday yesterday at our new digs The Waterloo Rod & Gun Club. A few of us decided to go outside and play... :D I know it's not the best videos but skipping through you will get the idea! LOL!
This is the home of the new KW Garrison which will have a new outdoor field in the spring and hold winter meets in the hall shown. Watch real close you will see some weird and wonderful new club vehicles!!!

That looks like a lot of fun going on up there in the frozen north!

Next time you guys go outside spray the tracks and road wheels and drive sprockets with a coating of Balistol it'll keep the snow from sticking to anything and the tanks can go into some of the deeper stuff. It's what I use on mine when I go out in the snow and it works great! Doesn't stain the plastic or any of the paints I've used either.

We just didn't aclaimatize the vehicles and for fun we wanted the snow to stick. Normally I leave mine out for an hour before running so all the gear gets cold. Then there are no problems with snow sticking... :D

Oh...... well, then nevermind I guess.

I've tried the leaving it outside trick but it never seemed to work for me do I need to do anything else? I left my King Tiger on the front porch for like 2 hours and the snow still stuck to it. Not sure what I did wrong.

Oh, don't get me wrong, you still get snow on it but it doesn't flash freeze to it. In other words a thin layer melts when contacting the warm surface but freezes again quickly. This can case all sorts of problems on moving parts. I have very detailed paint jobs and details so no way I am coating them with anything! :D

Oh ok that's what was happening to mine. I can certainly understand not wanting to spray anything on it any all your hard work and detailing. My King Tiger isn't a stock H/L by any stretch but it's not on the level with some of the masterpieces you guys build! If you ever get one that isn't muesam quality work (or better!) give the Ballistol a try. http://ballistol.com they can explain it far better then I can on their site. It never hurt anything on my King Tiger.
