Tank Girl is new! (if only...)

Post by Tank Girl »

Hiya, I am new here...
I thought I wasn't here at all for a couple of weeks as I didn't receive an email or anything but my usename and password works - and it seems I can post, so....
I have just discovered - well, in the last couple fo years - Heng Long RC tanks and now have four of them. A tiger, two Panzer IIIs and a Panzer IV

Why, two Panzer IIIs you may ask? Well, that is a long story that involves UPS (Useless Parcel Smashers) smashing the first one one that they delivered to me by putting a pole through the side of the carton. I ended up purchasing the damaged one for £20 as as a rebuilder on top of the one I accepted (UPS damaged that too - the transformer was broken and the transformer from the first one was accepted in its stead!)

Anyway, enough of them.

My first big Q: I am now rebuilding the Panzer III that had its suspension smashed and need to know how to get into the suspension pivot fixings. I already know how to take the hull apart as I had to do some re-soldering in there but this does not give access to the arm pivots.

Any ideas?

Best wishes

Hi,
take the tracks off by pushing out 1 of the pins, gently sprise the wheels apart working your way around the rim until the outer wheel comes off, then you'll see a screw holding the inner wheel on, remove that, take the inner wheel off and you'll ree the screw holding the suspension arm

hope that helps  regards  Jack.

I've had several damaged parcels from UPS too (one just yesterday) so I can sympathise tankgirl. Welcome to the forum by the way. You are certainly in the right place for re-building model tanks.

Cheers

Hi there tank girl welcome sorry to here about the UPS damaging your tanks ,If you want to upgrade the suspension to metal which if you have to repair the it will cost about £20 here is the upgarde that you need .http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Heng-Long-1-16-Pa ... 7C294%3A50
There are lots of mods that can be done to the Panzer 3 but has you are starting with the suspension You could also fit metal wheels but it is posible to fit the plastic ones it all depends on your budget ,then there are metal tracks and sprockets this should give you a good lower hull .If you need help just fire a post on the main area and someone will offer the advice you need .
