2.4 Radio gear

Post by fastfaz »

Greetings everyone,
I am an absolute novice with Tanks and the electrics/boards etc I don't have a clue what an IBU or a Clark board is so I need help (the wife says this all the time!). I am quite good with model tugs and the scratch wiring of the ESC's, receiver, fuses/switches etc but lost with the same in a tank. What I would like to know is can I use my 2.4 gear i.e. Spektrum DX6 and Receiver 6 channels in a Tank? I have a number of Tx's and matching RX's from my Tugs so it seems silly not to use them if possible, the DX6 can be programmed for 240 different models its got a huge memory. I am in the process of finding a tank at this time so would really appreciate any help and advice. Thanks guys.
Cheers,
Peter. ??? ???

Hi Peter, your Dx6 will work on the tanks but not with the standard electronics ie heng long / taigen boards but it will work with tamiya electronics. so if you want it to work with an HL or taigen tank you will need an after market board, I use a spektrum Dx6i with my tamiya tanks and with my ibu2, hope this helps

Cheers, Lee.
