Hi folks.
I am wishing to upgrade the motors on my abrams t3918-,1 large American tank. is there a good set of 5-1/4-1 metal motor/gearboxes on the market. ?.
So far I can only find taigen with a long enough drive shaft 59mm. and they will have to be modified, which I wish to avoid.
any advice would be welcome.
Cheers Wads.

I generally upgrade my stock 380 motors with jp400 or jp480 motors, lots more power and torque but will make it very fast unless you go low ratio gearboxes.
If you've space then stock gearboxes and upgraded motor probably give a realistic speed although is like a race car compared to ww2 tanks

I don't have a HL Abrams so not certain what gearboxes are available. Ask Forgebear if he's not listing the gearbox I'm sure he can obtain for you or know what is available.

Any of the 4 or 5 shaft gearboxes will give you low speed control. However you have to appreciate much of the control comes from the electrics

Wouldn't you want a modern Tank like Abrams or Leo to have a higher top speed than let's say a WW2 tank that would be almost half as fast?

Hi Tao.
Not for running around a first floor flat.
I have no access to a garden of any size, and our local club has gone belly up 4 weeks after I came back into tanking.
I hope you are crying into your beer !! (only joking).
Cheers Wads.
