1\16 Stowage Items

Post by Mackem »

Hi All,

Have got a 1\16 Abrams and as we all know our american friends carry everything but the kitchen sink on their tanks.

Image

Have had a poke around ebay etc to price up stowage items and to make my tank look anything like the one shown above would cost as much as buying a new tank!
So I've had a bash at making some stowage of my own.

Opinions please, and also any ideas/tips from others who have made their own stowage.

Cheers
John

Hi John, I decided to have a go at home-built storage for my machines and for bedding rolls on the WW2 stuff I used some very thin felt material from a local Boyes store, and folded it using pics from other web sites as a guide. I also bought a couple of fine green / brown netting stuff to use as camo netting. As bought, not 100% successful, but hey, beggars etc....
Also, from Boyes (no, I don't have shares..LOL!!) were some of there 1/18 scale soldier packs, (sorry, can't remember the names) and they have loads of small arms / sandbags/ binos / etc / etc that could be used on your modern era stuff, all for very low prices.
So the world's your oyster.... ;D
Too much month left at the end of the money!!
