New member from Essex

Post by Ben_r1 »

Morning all.

Another new member from Essex signing up. I've always been into tanks particularly WW2 German armour but only just recently found RC tanking.

Bought a Torro Tiger 2 and couldn't quite believe the quality of the model, I was expecting a toy but this thing is a beaut! Done a few little additions like chains and flags etc. considering cutting a few fenders off and battle scarring it up but not got the confidence to take a modelling knife to my shiny new tank yet.

Joined up to chat and share my passion with like minded people as the wife has banned me from talking about tanks at home anymore, if I'm not on the console playing World of tanks or Warthunder I'll be found in the back garden driving my Tiger over various children's toys and shooting coke cans from a distance!

Anyway that's my introduction, looking forward to reading more about this fantastic hobby.

Thanks

Ben.

Welcome Ben, be aware that you are now on a slippery slope leading to addiction, obsession, depleted bank accounts, and a wonderful time spent building and tearing apart plastic models!!

Enjoy your new tank and beware that temptation to start looking for the next tank......

Hi Ben,
A very warm welcome to the forum .as has been said you ARE now addicted  there's no turning back one tank is never enough. On a more lighter note you have on this forum a whelth of knowledge about all things tank. So any questions no matter how small just ask. Oh and by the way very nice King tiger you have there. Ah I do prefere the Porsche turret but can't ever afford Tamiya prices! Really want a Torro Jagdtiger too, even though it's just a tiger minus the turret .

What else do people use their tanks for other than bashing around the back garden harassing the dog? I've considered some paintball pellets for better target shooting, although the BB gun is very unreliable with auto loading, maybe fires one out of every 5 attempts.

Ben, Welcome to the Forum,
I would avoid using paintball pellets, you will never get the stuff out of the "Airsoft" workings if you burst a pellet in the barrel. :wtf:
Shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:
