Sturmpanzer Progress

Post by Ex_Pat_Tanker »

it's been a warm weekend, so naturally I spent it inside painting tanks ;D ;D ;D ;D
So onto the Sturm Tiger: my first attempt at painting 'ambush' camoflage scheme... It didn't turn out quite the way I wanted it to look, maybe when I go back and add the yellow spots it will look better :-\

And my Sturmpanzer IV. I found an illustration from an old Italeri kit and tried to work from that. It will hopefully be comming to Cobbaton this summer!

Thanks Fox!

Neither paint job came out quite as well as I'd hoped, but building tanks is like golf - you can make that one perfect example, and then you spend the rest of your life trying to replicate it...  ;D ;D ;D ;D
Not that I've painted that "one perfect tank" yet, but I live in hope...  :-\  ;)

Great camo scheme there Mart. I think you are well on your way to that 'perfect tank'

Hi Martin Nice Job Im the same as you when it comes to painting ,Ive found it totaly changes as soon as it has had a wash and a bit of weathering it .Knock it about a bit to chip the paint .I paint mine then install the electrics so when its getting moved around the bench it picks up scratches and chips then I wash it and cover it with MIG pigments which realy change the look of it .

Both of those are looking good to me. A couple of washes and some highlighting and they will look fantastic.
