Awesome start! The suspension always scared me away from the Maus...

An impressive build, it's always good to see the unusual tanks getting built, especially from scratch. Keep the pics coming.

Machine, Good morning,
I wanted to compliment you on this huge, scratch build. You have a lot of patience working out these details in sheet styrene. I know that Chris Ludwig's kits are cut out of the same type of material so how is it working for you? Is it strong enough to avoid warpage or are you having to use multiple layers and bracing to keep it even. Thanks in advance and following along,

Great project so far!!! 8) Even at 1/16th scale there isn't much room inside the lower hull for the drive train. I saw another Maus build on another site. I asked how he planned to set up his drive train. Then I mentioned an idea I had which would locate a drive motor on each end of the hull. One motor would drive one side and the motor at the opposite end would power the other track. I don't know if the guy ever finished his build.

I'll be watching your build with great anticipation. I hope all goes well with your build.
