Panther ausf. A ?

Post by Peregrine »

I'm about to get the Taigen 3819 Panther second hand, and just curious what model it is, because every site I check, it just says Panther. Here it is on one of the sites: http://www.modellsport.gr/products/inde ... anguage=en

I think it's ausf. A, but not sure, I guess it could also be an early ausf G without the mantlet chin. Anyone would know?

If you haven't bought it yet...Don't...if you're already committed to it then the best advice I can give is look for a cheap Tiger upper and swap it, as this was Heng longs first attempt at a Panther which was a panther-ish top stretched over a tiger chassis...not a lot going for it I'm afraid..even more out of proportion than the Bulldog...
remember...it's just a plastic tank... :/

The Pantiger does come in handy for parts needed to turn a 'G' into and 'A' but thats it !

Thanks guys, I later found Imex-Taigen model 12070 looks identical, and it is listed as Panther A:
http://www.taigentanks.com/panther-a
So is Taigen 3819 different from Imex Taigen 12070, or are they both identical Pantigers?

As far as I know all the Pantigers are based on the early HL A that used the Tiger 1 as its starting point.

:) both.
Actually, this is a really good deal not worth passing by. If not worth upgrading, I'll just let my daughter drive it so I can use it as a moving target for my bulldog :)
