Tiger aerial

Post by kj68 »

Hi my new tiger 1 build has the Gen 3 2.4 which does not need an aerial on either the controller or tank. But I would still like to have an aerial on my tiger like the original one would have had. I have moved the little silver peg from the back of the tank as this is how the HL tigers come. And I have moved it to its proper position where it would have been situated on the original tiger. would I be able to get a dummy aerial which I would be able to attach to the little silver peg. Any help would be appreciated.

Kevin your problem is that the aerial base you have is SOLID and you need one that is HOLLOW,
Simply because all the Antenna available pass through the centre of the aerial base,
If you go to ------
http://www.axels-modellbau-shop.de
Click on 1/16 Military
Click on Accessories 1/16
Click on Tiger 1
Go to sub-page 2 and find SCHUMO Antenna base Tiger 1 for--- Euro 2.50,
If you fit that, then the Schumo Aerial (Which I cannot Find) or the "ABER" that Brize58 describes will go through the base.
In my humble opinion the best of them all is Carson's on the DKLM site but it has been out of stock for a long time,

Kevin if you do want the DKLM Aerial you should go to ----
http://www.dklmrc.com
Click on "All products" and go to page "2" scroll down to the Aerial which costs £20.16 which is hellish expensive but it is COMPLETE ie- Aerial base AND Aerial with detail.
As I said earlier it is out of stock but Carson (A member of this Forum) will get one for you in 2/3 weeks if you place an order.
A warning once you are on his site it is a bit like Alladins cave, Keep a tight grip on your wallet, There is some lovely stuff here. :haha: :haha:

On mine, I used the standard aerial but cut it to the correct length. The Spring base while not accurate still allows plenty of flex and painted MATT black looks fine.

Hi mate

if you do not want to paint it, you can cover it with shrink tube, i did this in all my aerials. An example:
