Spectrum DX5e make it self centering

Post by bowlman »

Specktrum wont make the DX5e Self centering like thy will the DX6i so there is a way to do it your self .

Take a old HL or Matorro Tx and remove the 4 springs from the sticks you will use them on the DX5e you will need 2 small crews .
remove the metal tab from the thats on the ratchet tab put spring on screw then take small screw and put on end of stick on the other side use the spring mount thats there now you may need to put a 3rd spring from the other side that wont center to center hole on stick were the metal tab was riding on .

A nother way to do this would be with 1 long spring make a loop in the center of spring with needle nose pliers and then put screw in center of stick then hook to both ends of stick box .

They do make the parts, its just that the FCC don't allow you to modify your transmitter in anyway (and that includes changing the crystals afaik!)...

I will soon be posting a how-to for fitting the spring centering kit for a DX5e (and DX6i) - which may or may not have been carried out in a non FCC regulated country... ::) ::)

Thanks for that handy tip bowlman. I don't have a DX5e (yet) but I do have two DX6is. I have the self-centering kits but for the life of me I can't figure out how you can get them fitted. Any chance of that DX6i tutorial soon Mart?

Cheers

you may have to take the 4 screws off the front around the stick and lift it up and go from under it to get the plastic arm in place .

fv432 did your kits come with the pin to go into the arm I just got the springs and arm in my kits for the skysport .The skysport arms look just like the 1 needed for the DX6i and DX5e wonder if they would work .

Thanks
