HL Tanks and water

Hi guys, just a quick question. How do the HL tanks fair in shallow water? The reason I'm asking is because the underside has the power & smoke buttons. Is there a limit to how deep these tanks can safely drive?

When I buy any Tank The first thing I do is if a metal hull is available then that is what I get and if there is not a metal hull available I remove the switches from the floor and cut the battery box inside the hull so that the Battery is inside the hull and I seal the original battery cover and switch holes using a wipe of filler so that the underside is both flat and sealed,
The access to the switches I provide by cutting out the Hatch blanks and fitting upgrade hinged metal hatches and mounting the power switch under the hull gunners hatch, a mounting point for a Heng Long switch is usually to be found there.
But the best advise I can offer is AVOID WATER wherever possible.

Shallow water that doesn't reach up to the road wheel axles can be pretty safely driven through slowly. Deeper then that even with the tanks bottom sealed up and the switches moved invites water into the hull through any number of openings. A quick run through deeper water then the top of the battery box will surely end up with water getting into the hull. It can be done but expect to remove the upper hull and drain out the water right away or install a sump pump like those in larger rc boats that continually pump out any water that enters the hull and keep all the electrical parts off the hull floor.
