M60A3 6/22, Using Tamiya M26 Lower Hulls
M60A3 6/22, Using Tamiya M26 Lower Hulls
Hi guys, a question if you please.
if one wanted to build an M60 A3 in 1/16-18 without spending a large fortune but willing to invest more time than money where would one start?
TIA.

Re: M-60A3
For a 1/16, you've got to looking at starting with a HL Pershing base, moving the front idler and sprocket positions...then a scratchbuilt upper/turret. I think mcevoyi has done one..
remember...it's just a plastic tank...

Re: M-60A3
They're have been a couple built using the 21st century top and the henglong Pershing lower. Pale paint was working on one, I think the builds on here.

Hiya Frankie ..
My build is the M103A2 ... the basics are the same ..and a different turret ,,not an impossible build .but very time consuming .. I actually have plans to do the M60A2 starship ..and have all I need to do it ..
but like most of us have so many builds on the go ...

OOOOOOOOOOOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of my favourite tanks, the M60A3. It was my first plastic model AFV kit also.
I want one if only there was one in 1/16 RC. Though I'd do the M60A1 USMC version with Blazer ERA as seen in ODS. Oh, and with mine plow as well ahihihihihi! (pardon my mineplow fetish hahahaha)

Hey Tomas,
I think the M60 would be one of my favorites as well. While living in Germany in the mid 70s it was quite common to see M60s rumbling down the road.
It would be nice to have one in 1/16 and now that I am making the plunge to kitbash one someone will announce one!
The only noticeable issue I have seen looking at the FINE builds here using the HL M26 lower and 21st C upper is the size of the wheels but after it is all together it certainly looks like a M48. So I am going to have a go at building an M60A3 (I think) though I do like the look of the USMC M60A1 with the ERA.

Re: M60 A3
Apparently the 21st Century M48 is 1/18.
Re: M60 A3
Yep unfortunately it is the only game in town short of a total scratch build upper and turret on the HL M26 chassis. I am anxious to get it and see if it is totally impossible to "mobilize" it as opposed to grafting it onto a 1/16 chassis. It should be here buy the time I return form my business trip Wednesday.atcttge wrote:Apparently the 21st Century M48 is 1/18.
