Taigen IR Recoil turret to IBU2 connection

Hello All

I recently got a Taigen Infra red turret with the recoiling barrel to connect to my Heng Long Tiger 1 which I use an IBU2 base board in. I have read the instructions and it says about the modifications needed to be done to the wiring to connect to an IBU2 board.

The IBU2 manual mentions the "Taigen airsoft/recoil unit". As mentioned above I have the infra red one. Do I need to do these modifications to the wiring for the infra red version? I also noted that RC Tank electronics has a wiring harness for £5 for connecting the Taigen turrets to the IBU2 board.

I'm guessing that means with the harness it would connect to the IBU2 board without modifications ala plug and play, instead of what the IBU2 instruction manual says?

Hi Craig,

The IR version will plug straight into the IBU2 as uses the typical standard wiring.

The wiring mod detailed in the manual and the wiring harness is only for the taigen airsoft recoil unit as this product in taigen and IBU2 wired tanks have altered wiring to make it work.

Thank you for your reply and the clarification of the different turret types , next time I tinker with my tank I will attempt to connect it, and get it up and running.
