Hello everyone, Im Steve I live on edge of the New Forest, as a teenager I was always into tanks had books on them and built 1/35th kits lots of them hehe.
Then there was a break, then I got into 1/10th saloon car racing indoors with Bashley car club, then became Chairman then changed our outdoor buggy track into a tarmac saloon car track re named the club to South Hants Model car club enjoyed it hated it those who have done it will understand hehe.
Now I'm back into rc Tanks, was just looking at them for ages then decided to buy a 1/16th Taigen fully upgraded Tiger 1, love it, Ive started to upgrade further buy putting a Taigen airsoft recoil turret on and bits and pieces. Now Im hooked again have just ordered a ibu2pro and radio gear Tarr mk1 smoker, now looking at lipo batts and charger. Would like to join a club but doesn't look like there are any local clubs but thats no problem lots of forest and beaches to run the tank around.
Well thats about it so far, this looks like a really friendly forum with everyone willing to help so prepare for lots of questions haha, Steve.

Steve a very warm welcome to the Forum, A nice choice of Tank although if it were mine I would keep it well away from SAND,
"They don't like it up em" to coin a phrase.
If you must, Do clean it properly afterwards if you want it to last any length of time.
Shaun.

Welcome aboard, Steve, from across the Big Water.
Good choice in the IBU, and Ian knows how to rewire the airsoft recoil turret for that so when the time comes you'll want to check his website. rctankelectronics, maybe? I always google IBU2 manual and that takes me there. Another good choice was the Tiger, but some say I'm biased when it comes to Tigers (I own five Tiger Ones, a King and Jagd).
Your prior RC experience will serve you well here, especially if you become as insane as this guy and start thinking about Kubels and Jeeps and a Deuce and a Half. I just started playing with 1/24 scale rock crawlers for that very reason. Some say i'm nuts to spend 100 pounds or more for a crawler and then tear it apart to put the guts in something else, but I did mention i'm insane, right?

Again, good to have you on board.

When FDR coined the phrase "The Arsenal of Democracy", he was talking about Detroit. Proud to live in the 2nd most violent city in America!!

Hi Steve
Welcome to the forum, like you my past has been RC Cars off road and on, racing at WLRC many years ago.
RC tanks have now taken over and luv um, not to many clubs where I live west London but the real enjoyment for me is research and build them and that is where this forum comes into its own with so many talented people contributing to it.
…enjoy

Re: Hello from the New Forest
Welcome to the Forum Steve,
I confess, I usually don't run a Tank straight from the box,
I only get to see how good it is AFTER I have stripped it down and then built MY Tank.
I could for all I know be buying non runners because the guts that they came with are soon in a parts box while I fit them with something better.
Is that more money than sense or Passion for the accuracy usually missing from a RTR ?
Shaun.
