My 1st heng long bulldog Repair and Build

I am new to the world of r/c let alone r/c tanks. I decided to get a heng long, so when I happened to come across a bulldog being sold as spares and repair on eBay. I thought with having a tight budget that is the one.
When waiting for it to arrive I was dreaming of some simple fix and what camo and mods I wanted for it.
It has arrived and wow now I can see the work needed just to get it to drive.
Phase 1 Getting it to drive
1: One segment of the metal track has partly snapped off. 2: A resistor and a wire needs soldering
3: Top guide wheels on both side at the rear are tight.
These are just the problems I can see just to get it to move.
2 and 3 should be a easy fix. The metal track I was thinking or more hoping some metal putty dremeled into shape would be a temporary fix for this. Have ordered a new crystal set.
