My tanks this Sunday past...
Yes, we're moving. *laughs maniacally* I swore I wouldn't ever again when we bought our current home around nine years past. The little Ex-urb we moved to somehow way surpassed my expectations and grew into a thriving town with businesses and apartment complexes popping up all over the landscape in that short space of time. I had figured we had 20 years before Progress' March caught up to us....not even. So with Job uncertainty cropping up later this year and the market for homes and living space being in some kind of frenzied boil all over northern Colorado, we went to a financial advisor for a sit down. Long story short, we are purchasing 40 acres on the outskirts of Gardner, Co. This tiny four street burg is about as far off the grid as you can go and still be on it. Way south and west and up in a mountain valley between two ranges of peaks. It will take Progress a while to find us there. Best of all, the land and home, cars and credit will all be paid for when we move in. A lot less stress over finances and I can even retire to play with tanks full time when I want to. ;o) Anyway, productive posts will be a while out from me but I will still be hanging around here enjoying everyone else' work. Here is that picture I mentioned earlier:

Hi Painless good luck with the move and it sounds like a brilliant deal on the property (why do I have John Denver Rocky Mountain High running around my brain....?). Hope you get settled soon and can unpack all those tanks. Looked the place up on google maps - you should have plenty of space to run those tanks!
Best regards Alwyn

I miss my five acres and the privacy and quiet it afforded me. Good luck Painless, show us some photo's of the new digs when you get settled.

Good morning my Friends,
The house is 90% packed and stored in the garage. 'Staging', the ReMaX folks called it. Griffy's Miata is grumping because it has to live in the driveway now next to my jeep. *chuckles* Thank you for all of the kind words and thoughts. I am sitting back and letting my aching everything calm down while the Offers on the place start up today. I hate moving, Tom and feel your pain there. I had to come up with some inventive ways to pack the tanks with all the detailing added to them. A lot of styrofoam was carved that night. Those will travel down with us in the Jeep, no moving van for them. For the curious, here is the Listing link on our current home for fun and I will also add a couple of pics of the new land.
with all regards,
Painless

Hi Painless, looks idyllic, is there a house on the property yet or do you have to build? Alwyn

Kaiser, Thanks, Doc! At night, the sky looks like a screen shot of a Cosmos episode. No light bleed so 'Country Dark'. Alwyn, I was talking to Alpha earlier this month about the property. There is an existing manufactured home ( big trailer ) that we are going to live in while the modular home goes up next to it. The original trailer will then get painted and landscaped and become our Office for working remotely and my shop for my hobbies. It will also house the spare guest room for when folks visit. ;o)
